Greetings from the President
I hope everyone had a good
holiday and you are surviving
this winter with lots of
quilting. By the time you
receive this message our quilt
challenge will be done. Remember
if you want to display the
quilts somewhere in your area
that you need to contact Val
Schultz (QCNYS Vice President).
This will be our program
'planning meeting' for this
year. Anyone responsible for
programs in your guild is
welcome to join us. We will be
working together to make a
booklet to be published with
ideas and suggestions.
Thank you to Grape Country
Quilters for hosting our member
meeting in December. It sure was
foggy on the way to the meeting
but beautiful on the way home.
We need our member guilds to
step up and sign up to host
meetings. The board is to
hosting the March member meeting
because no guild volunteered.
The hardest thing to do is find
a place that can hold 120 people
but with good planning the
guilds are making money each
time they host. The board's cost
for the church and the lunch
being made by the church women
is fully covered with the eight
dollar we charge per meeting.
If members are willing to bake
for morning coffee, it helps.
With raffle baskets, one can
make more money. Remember the
board is only seven members and
we can do it. It doesn't take a
large group but one that can
work together. A special 'Thank
You' to Cathy Marks who offered
to be the registrar and found
the site we are using.
Please contact Ann Hawkins or
Pamela Langdon if your group can
host. Let's see a few of you who
have never done a member meeting
step up. You will have a full
year to plan since 2014 is now
Someone sent me this poem and I
think it really does sum up
Life is like a patchwork quilt
And each little patch is a day,
Some patches are rosy, happy and
And Some are dark and gray.
But each little patch as it's
And sewn to keep it together
Makes a finished block in this
life of ours
Filled with sun, and with rainy
So let me work on Life's
Through the rainy days and the
Trusting that when I have
finished my block
The master may say: "Well done."
Respectfully submitted: Pamela
