Quilters Consortium of New York State

Wee Little Quilts

QCNYS supports the quilters and fiber artists of New York State by granting five or more annual scholarships
of $100 each to applicants for continuing their education of techniques in quilting and fiber arts.

Wee Little Quilts (aka small fiber art quilt) are 10″ x 10″ wall quilts of various design
made and donated by QCNYS members to benefit the scholarship fund.

You are invited to participate!  Wee Little Quilts will be offered to the public for a donation of $10.00 at the quilt shows throughout the State of New York with proceeds to benefit the QCNYS Educational Scholarships.

Guidelines: Have fun with your creation, but please stay within these guidelines

  • Wee Little Quilts (WLQ aka small fiber art quilt) are 10″ x 10″.
  • The WLQs may be pieced, appliqué, , paper-pieced  – any technique you love. If you would hang it on your wall – then it’s perfect!
  • Each WLQ should preferably have a 2” finished sleeve so it can be hung or 2 folded corner pockets if necessary. Binding is ideal, but they can be faced or enveloped, or have a serged rolled hem. It needs to be quilted using any technique. Every WLQ needs to be signed and dated by the maker on the back of the quilt. It also must be accompanied by a paper label (below).
  • We encourage you to make more than one! There is no limit to the number of WLQs you can donate. Panels can be a good source of multiple WLQs. Holidays, seasonal, animals and hobbies are popular.

Quilts will be collected at your guild meetings by your QCNYS Representative. Please make arrangements to deliver quilts to the QCNYS Wee Little Quilts Committee by contacting Elissa Yost (elissa2052@yahoo.com) or deliver them to a QCNYS Quarterly Meeting.

All Wee Little Quilts become the property of Quilters Consortium of New York State (QCNYS).
